VTB installs MyOffice for all workers instead of foreign programs

MOSCOW, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s VTB Bank has installed national software MyOffice at working places of all its employees in a move to substitute foreign programs, the bank said on Tuesday in a statement.

“VTB has completed the first stage of the inter-bank transition to the use of Russian office software MyOffice. National digital products are already installed at working places of all employees of VTB. Migration from foreign office software in the scale of the whole bank has started simultaneously with it,” the bank said.

MyOffice products are fully designed in the country and let the bank organize work in its own cloud space without the risk of being sanctioned by regulators or service providers.

“VTB has become the first Russian bank to have installed the Russian software programs on such a scale for its staff. Under the regulator’s requirement, 90% of foreign software must be substituted with local by 2024, we plan to make this transition much faster,” the bank’s Deputy CEO Vadim Kulik said.
